Reinstatement's
Retail Policies
- Reinstatement of Coverage: If Coverage terminates because premiums have not been paid, it may be reinstated
under The Policy if:
1) RETAIL POLICIES:
DIRECT BILL policies follow “normal” reinstatement rules 90 days.
The insured must have a CHECK post marked by the 90th day past the date the premium due date. The insured must include a letter to state a request to reinstate.
2) RETAIL POLICIES: the Covered Person was previously covered under The Policy; and
3) RETAIL POLICIES: the Covered Person is eligible for coverage under The Policy;
except for voluntary termination of coverage.
Reinstated coverage is subject to all other terms and provisions of The Policy.

Corporate Policies (List & Direct Bill)
- Reinstatement of Coverage: LIST BILL policies can be reinstated at any time. and DIRECT BILL policies follow “normal” reinstatement rules 90 day rule.
Re-Enrollment Process
If the policy has terminated & past 90 days:
- The insured must re-enroll per Hartford guidelines. The CSR will need to send the insured new applications, or advise the insured to go online to re-enroll
- Here is the Retail Application.
What will happen once the insured re-applies:
1. We will assign the insured a new Inspro Number (P number),
2. The insured will also have a new Emerge Number
3. The insured will be subject to all new enrollment guidelines
- What happens to the insureds plans when they re-enroll:
Corporate Insured’s plans will become Retail plans if re-enroll:
Premium increases based on age
They will have pre-existing period
New deductibles
Gap in coverage (time between new effective date and termination date)
Any claims received during the gap in coverage will be denied, not coverage.
Their rate will have the first year discount (unless they live in KY or OH)
Retail insureds reapplying will:
Re-start their pre-existing waiting period
New P number
New Emerge
Gap in coverage (time between new effective date and termination date)
Any claims received during the gap in coverage will be denied, not coverage.
Their rate will have the first -year discount again (unless they live in KY or OH)
When the note from insured and payment are returned to you complete the Hartford Reinstatement Form.
