Exception: USCJ is not a typical association where members join on an individual basis. Instead, USCJ is an association comprised of conservative congregations/synagogues. If a member attends a conservative synagogue that is part of USCJ, he or she is automatically a member of USCJ.

Some certificates state that the insured must maintain membership with the association or coverage will end. This varies, so you must refer to the certificate language. Usually, you will find the information in the “when coverage ends” section of the cert.
