Generally speaking, spouses and children cannot port without the employee. Additionally, when the member is ineligible due to illness/injury, then the spouse and/or child(ren) are also ineligible for Port. 

Definition of a child: 

• An eligible dependent child includes:
  1. Your biological children; 
  2. Your stepchildren; 
  3. Your legally adopted children; 
  4. Any children for whom you are responsible under court order; 
  5. Your grandchildren in your court-ordered custody; and 

Any other child who lives with you in a parent-child relationship.
