AD&D plans always have exclusions (activities/occupations/etc. that are NOT covered). Some common examples are:
- Aircraft pilots and crew members
- Air flight in a private craft
- War and terrorism
- Military
- Intoxication
- Attempt or commission of a crime
- Self-inflicted injury
- Suicide or attempt of suicide
- Parasailing/parachuting
- Incarceration
- As long as the accident is not excluded or related to a medical cause, the death/dismemberment is covered. This coverage is in force at home, at work, at play, or while traveling. Even very dangerous occupations such as law enforcement and fire fighting are covered.
