Do Accidental Death & Dismemberment policies have exclusions?

AD&D plans always have exclusions (activities/occupations/etc. that are NOT covered). Some common examples are:

  • Aircraft pilots and crew members
  • Air flight in a private craft
  • War and terrorism
  • Military
  • Intoxication
  • Attempt or commission of a crime
  • Self-inflicted injury
  • Suicide or attempt of suicide
  • Parasailing/parachuting
  • Incarceration

  • As long as the accident is not excluded or related to a medical cause, the death/dismemberment is covered. This coverage is in force at home, at work, at play, or while traveling. Even very dangerous occupations such as law enforcement and fire fighting are covered.
