A newborn child may be added to a Direct Bill policy within 30 days of birth without completing an application. The member may submit a signed letter asking for the child to be added effective from the date of birth. 

We need the child’s full name and date of birth.

Members must complete enrollment forms to add spouses or older children.

The effective date of the newly added family member will be determined according to the certificate language.

Retail policies normally have the effective date for the new person being add as the first of the following month from the date of the signed application. 

For example, if the application is signed 03/27/2020, the effective date for the person (s) being added will be 04/01/2020. 

 If a Direct Bill insured needs an enrollment form to add a family member, the CSR can send an “App to Add Person.” 

Once the application is returned please add it to the “billingworkflow”. See "Imagenow" in HelpJuice for instructions for adding an item to the workflow. 

 Reminder, the process takes 5 business days to complete from the date it is added to the workflow que.
